Everything you need to get a clean clip

What does RackCut actually do?
RackCut takes a recording of a lifting set and automatically trims it down to just the working set. It detects the lift, estimates your rep count, proposes a trim, and lets you export a clean clip — all in your browser, without uploading the video anywhere.
Which lifts are supported?
RackCut is tuned for the three main barbell movements — squat, bench press, and deadlift. You can pick the lift on the home screen, or leave it on Auto and let RackCut decide. Other barbell movements often work too, but the three primary lifts are where detection is most accurate.
What video formats and file sizes can I use?
RackCut accepts common phone video formats — MP4, MOV, and WebM. Because everything is processed on your device, very large or very long files depend on your device’s memory; clips of a single set (a few seconds to a couple of minutes) work best. For sharpest detection, film from the side with the full lift in frame and reasonable lighting.
Does my video get uploaded to a server?
No. Importing, pose analysis, trimming, and export all happen locally in your browser. Your video and its frames are never uploaded to RackCut and are never accessible to us. See the Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.
How does the auto-detection work?
RackCut runs an on-device pose model (Google’s MediaPipe Tasks Vision) to track your body through the clip, then a detector built for barbell movements finds the working set and estimates reps. It’s a suggestion, not a verdict — you can always adjust the trim points yourself before exporting.
The trim isn’t quite right. Can I fix it?
Yes. After detection you land on the trim screen, where you can drag the start and end points to frame the set exactly how you want. RackCut learns nothing about your footage in the process — adjustments stay on your device.
Where do my exported clips go?
Exported clips download straight to your device like any other file. On RackCut Pro you can also send a finished clip directly to Google Drive using a permission scope limited to files you choose to upload — RackCut never reads or browses the rest of your Drive.
Do I need to create an account?
No account, no sign-up, no password. Open the app and start trimming. Your settings and (if you buy it) your Pro status are stored locally in your browser.
What do I get with RackCut Pro?
Pro is a one-time purchase that removes ads, unlocks premium themes, and adds direct Google Drive upload. There’s no subscription. See the Pro page for details and pricing.
Can I install RackCut like an app?
Yes — RackCut is a Progressive Web App. In most browsers you can choose “Add to Home Screen” (or “Install”) to launch it full-screen like a native app, and it works offline once installed.
